There seems to be an anomaly over the spelling of the name of this site. In some references & publications it is known as Freeman's Common, but Multimap clearly shows that there is a road nearby called Freemen's Common Road, so that's the spelling we're going with here! |

Warner: This was sold to commercial interest some years ago and the sight is still known today as Freemans Common. Freemans Common Road leads onto an Commercial Estate and the Tx site is now by the side of a Leicester City Council Recycling collection point. The mast was extended when it started transmitting ing on 1260khz. Radio Leicester's original aerial was at the Hillcrest Hospital in Swain Street, Leicester, now demolished. Then 96.4 VHF only. |
